Baseball Game Preview: Kenedy Lions vs. Schulenburg Shorthorns

The Kenedy Lions will face off against the Schulenburg Shorthorns at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kenedy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

Monday just wasn't the day for Kenedy's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Shiner on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Lions' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Schulenburg let Burton stack four runs on them in the first inning on Saturday but luckily Schulenburg prevailed anyway. The Shorthorns narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Panthers 8-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Shorthorns.

Kenedy moved to 17-9 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Schulenburg, their victory bumped their record up to 4-11.

Kenedy was able to grind out a solid win over Schulenburg in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 11-7. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Shorthorns turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
