Basketball Game Preview: Gramercy Christian Warriors vs. Christ Covenant Spartans

Gramercy Christian is 0-4 against Christ Covenant since February of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Gramercy Christian Warriors just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Christ Covenant Spartans at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, Gramercy Christian earned a 42-30 victory over Community Christian. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Gramercy Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addi Cook led the charge by putting up ten points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kinley Butler, who posted eight points and four steals.

Gramercy Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 12 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Christ Covenant had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Tigers 43-41.

Christ Covenant pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.1 points over those games. As for Gramercy Christian, their record is now 13-7.

Gramercy Christian came up short against Christ Covenant in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 42-32. Thankfully for Gramercy Christian, Olivia Entzminger (who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 12 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
