Softball Recap: East Davidson Takes a Loss

After flying high against South Davidson on Tuesday, East Davidson came back down to earth. The Golden Eagles fell just short of the West Davidson Dragons by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles haven't had much luck with the Dragons recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

ALYSSA STALEY spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, SOPHIE HAMPTON made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

East Davidson's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for West Davidson, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7.

As of now, neither East Davidson nor the Dragons have any future games scheduled.
