Basketball Preview: Tuttle Tigers vs. Ada Cougars
Tuttle is on a four-game streak of home wins, while the Cougars are on a ten-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Tuttle Tigers will take on the Ada Cougars at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Tuttle was beaten by the Eagles 68-35. While losing is never fun, Tuttle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Eagles are ranked 20th).
Meanwhile, Ada pushed their score all the way to 65 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 66-65 to Millwood. Ada has not had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Ada had strong showings from Devon Maccollister, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds, and Deante Lindsay, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Carter Colombe, who scored five points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Speaking of assists, Ada were working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Tuttle has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season. As for Ada, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.
