Baseball Recap: Northside Christian Academy Has No Trouble Against Briarwood Academy

On Monday, the Northside Christian Academy Crusaders made easy work of the Briarwood Academy Buccaneers and carried off a 9-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won four matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Luke Bohnsack made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Northside Christian Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Bohnsack was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Easton McCutchan, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Northside Christian Academy is undefeated when McCutchan posts two or more runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Will Spotts was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

The victory got Northside Christian Academy back to even at 4-4. As for Briarwood Academy, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northside Christian Academy will host Richard Winn Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Briarwood Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northside Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
