Poudre took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Rocky Mountain, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Impalas sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Lobos on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Impalas: when they faced off against the Lobos last Tuesday, they had to take a 8-1 defeat.

Angelo Vieira made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Vieira wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Bay, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Poudre now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Rocky Mountain, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-3.

Coming up, Poudre will welcome Roosevelt at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Rocky Mountain, they will head out to take on Douglas County at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Lobos are facing the Huskies at the right time seeing as the Huskies are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
