Baseball Recap: Seward Park Takes a Loss

After flying high against Bergtraum on Tuesday, Seward Park came back down to earth. The Bears fell just short of the Brandeis Bulldogs by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 4-2.

Betzalel Ruskay and Joshua Cohen did some serious damage despite the final result: Ruskay got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run, while Cohen went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases. Seward Park is 2-1 when Cohen posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-7 otherwise.

Seward Park moved to 5-8 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Brandeis, their record is now 6-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Seward Park will square off against Martin Luther King Jr Educational Campus at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brandeis, they will take on Lab Museum United at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
