The result came thanks to Kaia Galaviz's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kalena Olmos, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Bakholdin, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Clovis East was able to grind out a solid win over Madera on Tuesday, taking the game 5-1.
Savannah Villegas was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Aliana Fierro was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Clovis East is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Central, their win bumped their record up to 17-1-1.
Clovis East's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .334. It's a different story for Clovis East, though, as they've only averaged .247. Will they be able to contain Central's hitters?
