Basketball Recap: East Lyme Takes a Loss

East Lyme lost against St. Bernard back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The East Lyme Vikings took a blow against the St. Bernard Saints, falling 73-40. The match marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Michael Timpano, who went 7 of 14 to rack up 20 points. Oliver Hibbard was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 11 boards.

East Lyme dropped their record down to 6-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for St. Bernard, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

East Lyme wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 55-42 victory against Woodstock Academy on the 31st. As for St. Bernard, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-56 win against Staples on the 1st.
