Preview: Westfield Mustangs vs. MacArthur Generals
Westfield is 10-0 against the Generals since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Westfield Mustangs will be playing at home against the MacArthur Generals at 7:00 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
After a string of three wins, Westfield's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 52-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Spring. While losing is never fun, Westfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 578th, while the Lions are ranked 196th).
Meanwhile, MacArthur was beaten by the Cougars 77-24 on Tuesday. MacArthur has not had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Westfield's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-12. As for MacArthur, they dropped their record down to 9-20 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
Westfield beat the Generals 53-42 in their previous matchup back in January. Does Westfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Generals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
