Jefferson County had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 14-18-1 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sevier County Smoky Bears, sneaking past 4-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Olivia Mottern spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Jefferson County's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kayli Reece, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases Reece has posted since back in April.

As for Sevier County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since March 13th.

On Sevier County's side, Riley Mae Burrell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one double.

Jefferson County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Morristown-Hamblen West on the 7th. Sevier County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
