Alpine is 7-1 against Compass Academy since October of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bucks are taking a road trip to challenge the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Alpine has given up an average of 46.7 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Alpine is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 41 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Crane on Friday. They took a blow against the Cranes, falling 56-7.

Alpine didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Daedrick Hardwick.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Compass Academy faced off against Anthony on Thursday. The Cougars blew past the Wildcats 41-0. With that victory, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 27.5 points per game.

Compass Academy found their leader in sophomore Mason Hicks, who threw for 176 yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Braxton Morris also helped out with an impressive 84 receiving yards.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Compass Academy, racking up 17 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jaylen Jiminez, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

The win made it two in a row for Compass Academy and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 points in those games. As for Alpine, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Alpine came up short against Compass Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 37-26. Can the Bucks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
