Basketball Game Preview: Altavista Colonels vs. William Campbell Generals

The Altavista Colonels will challenge the William Campbell Generals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Altavista's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while William Campbell has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Last Friday, Altavista escaped with a win against Chatham by the margin of a single free throw, 64-63.

Meanwhile, William Campbell lost 64-40 to Gretna on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Generals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 378th, while the Hawks are ranked 36th).

William Campbell's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Altavista, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Altavista beat William Campbell 54-41 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Does Altavista have another victory up their sleeve, or will William Campbell turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
