Recap: T.R. Miller Tigers vs. Escambia County Blue Devils

The T.R. Miller Tigers suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were dealt a 63-33 defeat at the hands of Escambia County. While losing is never fun, T.R. Miller can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 312th, while Escambia County is ranked 148th).

T.R. Miller's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tayki Askew, who scored seven points. Henry Kirkland was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.

It was another big night for Cleo Bolar jr., who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and five assists for Escambia County. That's the first time this season that Bolar jr. pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Stephen Williams, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.

T.R. Miller's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Escambia County, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

T.R. Miller and W.S. Neal will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. W.S. Neal is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Escambia County, they will head out on the road to take on Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jackson is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
