Volleyball Recap: Pleasanton Takes a Loss

Pleasanton lost against Humboldt back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Blu-Jays fell 2-0 to the Cubs.

The final score came out to 25-6, 25-8.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Humboldt to victory, but perhaps none more so than Skylar Hottenstein, who had six digs and three aces. Hottenstein is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bailey Daniels, who had eight assists and four digs.

Pleasanton has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7-2 record this season. As for Humboldt, their victory was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-4.

Pleasanton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Marmaton Valley on the 20th. As for Humboldt, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Waverly on the 20th.
