Volleyball Recap: Permian Gets the Win

Permian picked up another tournament win on Friday. They skirted past the Incarnate Word Shamrocks 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Permian had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-21, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Incarnate Word still got an impressive performance from Ceci Trevino, who had 14 digs and two assists. Emma Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Permian's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Incarnate Word, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.

Permian has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Cedar Ridge on the 30th. As for Incarnate Word, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Alamo Heights on the 30th.
