Softball Recap: Concord's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Concord came into Wednesday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They never let the Viola Longhorns get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Wednesday. Considering the Pirates have won six matchups by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Concord got a massive performance out of L Tharp, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave Tharp a new career-high. Brooke Jones was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Concord's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Viola, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Concord will square off against Midland at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Viola, they will take on West Side at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Longhorns surely won't give up without a fight.
