Basketball Recap: Owings Mills Takes a Loss

Owings Mills lost against Carver A&T back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Owings Mills Golden Eagles took a 36-17 bruising from the Carver A&T Wildcats. The Golden Eagles were down 27-4 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Laila Brandon was the offensive standout of the contest as she almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (67%). Caroline X also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Owings Mills' loss was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-18-1. As for Carver A&T, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-9.

Owings Mills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carver A&T, they will square off against New Town at 5:00 p.m. on March 3rd.
