Basketball Game Preview: Seton Saints vs. Mount Notre Dame

Seton has won five straight games at home, while Mount Notre Dame has won five straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Seton Saints will welcome Mount Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. Seton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.1 points per game this season.

Last Thursday, Seton didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Mercy McAuley, but they still walked away with a 45-40 win. Given the Saints' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Wolves are ranked 401st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Seton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaitlyn Hess, who posted 11 points and six rebounds. Hess has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lauren Bain, who went 5 of 6 en route to 10 points.

Seton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Mount Notre Dame earned a 55-47 win over Fairland on Sunday.

Seton is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.4 points per game. As for Mount Notre Dame, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2.
