With a playoff win on the line, York rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They skirted past the New Kent Trojans 1-0. Give York's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Emma Lindquist, who's now up to three this season.

York's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. As for New Kent, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7-3 record this season.

York will challenge Lafayette at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lafayette will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something York surely won't give up without a fight. New Kent does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
