Football Game Preview: Newton Eagles vs. Lawrenceville Indians

The Newton Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Lawrenceville Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lawrenceville took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Newton, who comes in off a win.

Newton took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They skirted past Robinson 24-21. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Lawrenceville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 34-7 loss at the hands of Marshall. The Indians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 20-0.

Newton's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-5. As for Lawrenceville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Everything came up roses for Newton against Lawrenceville in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 41-7 victory.
