The Merritt Island Mustangs will face off against the Melbourne Central Catholic Hustlers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Merritt Island took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Melbourne, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mustangs won by a run and slipped past the Bulldogs 6-5.

Rindi Amos spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Elena Rollen, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, one run, and one RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Skylar Wilson, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI.
Meanwhile, Melbourne Central Catholic came tearing into Wednesday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Mustangs.
Melbourne Central Catholic also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Lilly Rollinger gave up only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks.
On the hitting side, Melbourne Central Catholic's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Amanda Carter, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Melbourne Central Catholic pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Merritt Island, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Merritt Island hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like Melbourne Central Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .357. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
