Basketball Recap: Lake Forest Academy Drops Season-High Score on Maine East

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Forest Academy). They blew past the Maine East Blue Demons 69-48 on Saturday. Given the Caxys' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Blue Demons are ranked 374th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Maine East lost, don't look at Arabella Silva. Despite the final result, she went 10 for 20 on her way to 31 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. Silva's morning made it 17 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Jessica Bravo was another key player, putting up nine points.

Lake Forest Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Maine East, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Lake Forest Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-29 victory against Round Lake on the 18th. As for Maine East, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 35-29 defeat against Woodstock on the 18th.
