Volleyball Recap: Brainerd Find Success

After losing to Bemidji the last time they met, Brainerd decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Warriors came out on top against the Lumberjacks by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Brainerd had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-17, 26-24, 25-18.

Sophia White was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 16 digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last six contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Preslee Glynn, who had seven digs and two aces.

Brainerd's win bumped their record up to 5-19. As for Bemidji, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Looking ahead, Brainerd will square off against Alexandria at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bemidji, they have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Sartell-St. Stephen on the 10th.
