Jude Matthews turned in yet another pitching appearance with more than six strikeouts on Thursday. He struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

Even though Matthews couldn't lead Lakeside over Greenbrier, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
