Football Game Preview: Jeffersonville Red Devils vs. Bloomington North Cougars

The Jeffersonville Red Devils will take on the Bloomington North Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jeffersonville has given up an average of 27.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Jeffersonville came up short against Floyd Central on Friday, falling 34-12. The loss continues a trend for the Red Devils in their meetings with the Highlanders: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bloomington North). They really took it to Terre Haute North Vigo for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-0 victory. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Jeffersonville better keep an eye on John Bargen. He was instrumental in Bloomington North's win, throwing for 273 yards and three touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes, and also punching in one score on the ground. Rashon English was Bargen's top target, picking up 102 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Jeffersonville now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Bloomington North, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3.
