Soccer Recap: Langley Takes a Loss

Langley and Wakefield pushed the score to 8-1 the last time they played Wakefield, but on Wednesday defenses reigned supreme. The Saxons fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Langley came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Wakefield are ranked 243rd).

Langley's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1-1 and their overall record down to 7-3-2. As for Wakefield, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-8.

Coming up, Langley will square off against Washington-Liberty at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Wakefield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
