Softball Recap: Waldron Comes Up Short

Waldron was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 20-4 to the Morristown Yellow Jackets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellow Jackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-6 on Thursday.

Abby Crouch was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Breanna Barton was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.

Waldron's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Morristown, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waldron will welcome Mooresville Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mohawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Morristown, they will host Irvington Preparatory Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
