Wachusett Regional faced Leominster in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Mountaineers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Blue Devils, sneaking past 45-42. The Mountaineers' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Leominster's loss came despite strong showings from Osiris Lopez and Jayden Wilbon. Lopez threw for 200 yards and five touchdowns, while Wilbon picked up 87 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Ryan Ricker got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Wachusett Regional's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Leominster, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Wachusett Regional will be playing at home against Milton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Leominster, they will venture away from home to challenge Algonquin Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils will be up against the Titans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
