Volleyball Recap: Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Takes a Loss

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northwest Whitfield Bruins. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-1 loss last Saturday.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-14.

Ajla Rizvic paced Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe's offense, picking up seven kills. Rizvic got some help from Kinley Slatton and her five assists. Montana Noblitt controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe's defeat dropped their record down to 8-22. As for Northwest Whitfield, they pushed their record up to 22-13 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coincidentally, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe and Northwest Whitfield will both be playing Oakwood Christian the next time they take the court. The Bruins will head out to face the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Warriors will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
