Baseball Recap: Hanover Hawks vs. Plymouth North Eagles

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Hanover and Plymouth North, and Plymouth North kept the tradition alive. The Hawks fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 6-5 on Wednesday. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Cole Hendrickson was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Hendrickson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4.

Hendrickson wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sam Light, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Hanover now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Plymouth North, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Hanover will take on Whitman-Hanson Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Plymouth North, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hingham at 4:00 p.m.
