Cox and Green Run are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Falcons will be playing at home against the Stallions at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cox has four straight wins, Green Run has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Cox will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs two weeks ago, then bounced right back against Princess Anne on Tuesday. The Falcons came out on top against the Cavaliers by a score of 11-7.
Ella Athey-Stapleton was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Piper Aman, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chyann Obiedo, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Green Run came up short against First Colonial two weeks ago, falling 13-2.
Green Run's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Cox, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Cox has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Green Run struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Cox took their win against Green Run in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-2 score. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Stallions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
