Recap: Osborne Cardinals vs. Walton Raiders
The Osborne Cardinals fell victim to the Walton Raiders''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 35-0 loss at the hands of the Raiders. While losing is never fun, Osborne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Walton is ranked third).
Walton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hunter Teal out in front who picked up 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Teal was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 60 yards. Makari Bodiford was in the mix as well, providing Walton with two touchdowns.
This is the second loss in a row for Osborne and nudges their season record down to 7-2. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 5.0 points per game. As for Walton, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Osborne will be playing at home against North Cobb at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Cobb is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Walton, they will square off against Wheeler at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
