Softball Game Preview: Menominee Maroons vs. Marquette Sentinels

The Menominee Maroons will square off against the Marquette Sentinels at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Menominee and five for Marquette.

Monday just wasn't the day for Menominee's offense. They lost 13-0 to Peshtigo on Monday.

Marquette couldn't beat Escanaba on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Sentinels came up short against the Eskymos, falling 20-5. That's two games in a row now that the Sentinels have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Marquette saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Marquette's defeat dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Menominee, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

Menominee was able to grind out a solid win over Marquette in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 9-4. Will the Maroons repeat their success, or do the Sentinels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
