Basketball Recap: Heritage Christian Takes a Loss

Heritage Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the New Life Christian Academy Lions, falling 63-25. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 86-46 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Jake Hamilton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for New Life Christian Academy, dropping a triple-double on 21 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 assists. Hamilton has been hot for a while, having also posted three or more steals the last 27 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Cameron McEarchern, who went 9 for 21 en route to 19 points and seven boards.

Heritage Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for New Life Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Heritage Christian is taking a road trip to take on Hundred at 6:00 p.m. on February 1st. Hundred knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Heritage Christian likes a good challenge. New Life Christian Academy has already played their next game, a 63-53 win against Elk Valley Christian on the 25th.
