Softball Recap: Smyrna Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Smyrna put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Lexington Tigers by a score of 6-3. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered an 11-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Talia Paredes and Charleigh Bailliez did most of the damage at the plate: Paredes scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Bailliez went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Paredes is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Smyrna kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Smyrna's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. As for Lexington, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-8-2.

Coming up, Smyrna will be taking part in a tournament against North Jackson at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Lexington, they are taking a road trip to square off against Sycamore at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday.
