Greenwich faced New Canaan in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Cardinals put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won five in a row.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Greenwich took every set by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-9, 25-13.

Greenwich found their leader in sophomore Bailee Dayon, who had 14 digs and two aces.

Greenwich was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Canaan only served one.

Despite the loss, New Canaan still got an impressive performance from Mia Lockyer, who had ten digs. Lockyer is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Greenwich's record is now 9-0. As for New Canaan, their defeat ended a seven-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-2.
