Baseball Recap: King's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

King's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Santiago Sharks a 4-0 shutout. The win was some much needed relief for the Wolves as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

The result came thanks to Jason Jones's shutout, as he gave up just four hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because King is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, King's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Madden Ferreira, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Ferreira has posted since back in February.

King's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Santiago, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season.

King will have a chance to go back-to-back against Santiago: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
