Soccer Game Preview: Tucson High Magnet School vs. Salpointe Catholic

The Tucson High Magnet School Badgers will square off against the Salpointe Catholic Lancers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Tucson High Magnet School's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Cholla 8-0.

Meanwhile, Salpointe Catholic waltzed into their game on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Caballeros with a sharp 8-0 victory. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by four goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Flowing Wells from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Aidan Borboa led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Salpointe Catholic's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Tucson High Magnet School, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4-1.

Tucson High Magnet School came out on top in a nail-biter against Salpointe Catholic when the teams last played back in January of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will Tucson High Magnet School repeat their success, or does Salpointe Catholic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
