Barstow hadn't done well against Silverado recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Barstow Aztecs never let the Silverado Hawks onto the board and left with a 1-0 win. Give the Aztecs' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Cash Martinez, who's now up to three this season.

Barstow's victory bumped their record up to 11-6-2. As for Silverado, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 1-1-1 and their overall record down to 7-11-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barstow will welcome Granite Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Barstow's last five games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Silverado, they will host Victor Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
