Recap: Hale Ray Noises vs. Putnam Clippers
On Thursday, Hale Ray was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 51-45 to Putnam. Hale Ray has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading Putnam to victory were Noah Rudman and Ahmyas Cardona. Rudman dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds, while Cardona scored 26 points. Rudman is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Aysaiah Chavez, who scored no points along with seven assists and three steals.
Hale Ray has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Putnam, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Hale Ray will be playing at home against North Branford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Branford is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Putnam, they will head out on the road to face off against Lyman Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Lyman Memorial is ranked 168th, while Putnam is ranked 152nd).
