Basketball Recap: Central Davidson Spartans vs. Ledford Panthers
Central Davidson lost against Ledford back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Central Davidson Spartans fell 54-41 to the Ledford Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while the Panthers are ranked 114th).

When it comes to explaining why Central Davidson lost, don't look at Logan Jordan. Despite the final result, she posted 14 points and four steals. Ledford found their leader in sophomore Izzy Smith, who went 7-for-11 en route to 16 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Carmen Hughes, who scored eight points in addition to five boards and three steals.
Central Davidson's record now sits at 12-12. As for Ledford, they pushed their record up to 19-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Central Davidson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ledford, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 62-33 loss against Oak Grove on the 18th.
