Basketball Recap: Ivoryana Powell Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Slaughter Community Charter

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but GEO Next Generation had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 47-31 victory over the Slaughter Community Charter Knights. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 41-39 back in December of 2024.

GEO Next Generation's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ivoryana Powell, who posted 20 points. Those 20 points gave Powell a new career-high. Kimberly Jack was another key player, putting up 12 points.

GEO Next Generation has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-11 record this season. Slaughter Community Charter has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
