The Langham Creek Lobos will face off against the Waller Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Langham Creek's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Waller has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.
Langham Creek is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Cypress Park a 20-0 shutout last Friday. Give the Lobos' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.
Karli Challburg was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Mia Martinez was a standout: she fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Kassidy Martinez was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.
Langham Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Waller had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Jersey Village 15-5 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 25th.
Hailey Wilganowski and Delyla Valdez dominated on the mound. Wilganowski tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits, while Valdez struck out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Avery Jameson, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Bachmann, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI.
Langham Creek is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. Waller's win bumped their record up to 3-13.
Waller's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Langham Creek has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Waller, though, as they've been averaging only 4.1 strikeouts. Will Langham Creek keep running through batters, or will Waller buck the trend?
Langham Creek couldn't quite get it done against Waller when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-2. Can Langham Creek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
