Softball Recap: Horton Sets Scoring Season-High Against Marais Des Cygnes Valley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Horton). They blew past the Marais des Cygnes Valley Trojans 17-10 on Monday. With that victory, the Chargers brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Horton got a massive performance out of Laila Pahmahmie, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance also gave Pahmahmie a new career-high in doubles (two). Natalia Keo was another key player, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Horton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .615. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Horton's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Marais des Cygnes Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Horton will face off against Pleasant Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marais des Cygnes Valley, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Mission Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
