Baseball Recap: Coastal Academy Gets the Win

Coastal Academy posted their closest win since May 9, 2024 on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Orange Glen Patriots 7-6. This was a revenge game for the Stingrays: when they faced off against the Patriots back in March, they had to take a 8-7 loss.

The team relied heavily on Jayden Boon, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jayce Costephens, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

Coastal Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They are 5-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win got Coastal Academy back to even at 7-7. As for Orange Glen, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.
