Softball Game Preview: Poly Parrots vs. Arleta Mustangs

The Poly Parrots will head out on the road to challenge the Arleta Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Poly came up short against Verdugo Hills on Monday, falling 9-2. The Parrots have struggled against the Dons recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Poly saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JAZLYN GALLARDO, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Arleta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Kennedy. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by just one run.

LEILANI GURROLA made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. KARINA SANCHEZ was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Poly's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Arleta, their loss dropped their record down to 9-16.

Poly beat Arleta 8-3 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Parrots since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
