Recap: Alhambra Bulldogs vs. Woodcreek Timberwolves

The Alhambra Bulldogs fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Woodcreek Timberwolves on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 60-52 to the Timberwolves. While losing is never fun, Alhambra can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 537th, while Woodcreek is ranked 123rd).

Alhambra lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Samuel Gillaspy, who scored 21 points. Gillaspy scored a full 40.4% of Alhambra's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaimison Krause, who scored 12 points along with six assists and six rebounds.

Aidan Triplet continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Woodcreek, scoring 19 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Triplet also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Will Dennie, who scored 15 points.

Alhambra now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Woodcreek, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Alhambra won't have much time to rest: their next match is against St. Joseph Notre Dame at 4:00 p.m. on December 8th. St. Joseph Notre Dame will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. Woodcreek won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Dougherty Valley at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th.
