Basketball Game Preview: Burns Broncs vs. Newcastle Dogies

Burns is on a five-game streak of home losses, Newcastle a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Burns Broncs will get right back to it and host the Newcastle Dogies at 6:00 p.m.

Burns came up short against Pine Bluffs on Thursday, falling 68-46.

Meanwhile, Newcastle won against Wheatland on Friday with 44 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Newcastle slipped by Wheatland 44-43. That's two games straight that the Dogies have won by just one point.

Newcastle is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 3-10 record this season. As for Burns, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Burns ended up a good deal behind Newcastle in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, losing 47-31. Can Burns avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
