Basketball Recap: Newark Catholic Takes a Loss

Newark Catholic lost against Johnstown-Monroe back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Green Wave were beaten by the Johnnies 67-28.

Several Green Wave players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sydney Gummer, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 12 points and five boards.

Newark Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Johnstown-Monroe, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Coming up, Newark Catholic is taking a road trip to face off against Licking Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Johnstown-Monroe, they will host Norton at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
